Resolution Criteria
This market resolves to the option that correctly describes when Elon Musk leaves his position at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and whether he receives another administrative or advisory role in the Trump administration. Only one option will resolve as YES.
Background
Elon Musk was appointed by President Trump to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Vivek Ramaswamy. DOGE was established to identify wasteful government spending and recommend reforms to streamline federal operations. The department was initially intended to operate until July 4, 2026.
Recent reports suggest that Musk's role at DOGE may be ending sooner than originally planned. President Trump has hinted that Musk will return to running his companies, and DOGE's activities appear to be winding down. Musk's involvement in government is also limited by his status as a special government employee, which restricts his workdays.
Considerations
The resolution of this market depends on both the timing of Musk's departure from DOGE and whether he receives another administrative or advisory position in the government. If Musk remains at DOGE beyond 2026, the last option will resolve as YES.
This is the first departure. If Musk remains out for a week or more then that counts, even if he later returns.
