The new regulation under Portaria SPA/MF Nº 1.475 introduced by Brazil's Ministry of Finance requires online betting platforms like Manifold Markets to secure authorization to legally operate within the country by the end of 2024.

This ordinance is part of a broader framework aimed at regulating fixed-odd betting operations, setting stringent requirements for data management, betting systems, and operational transparency.

The betting platforms must submit their applications through the System of Management of Betting (SIGAP), and those approved will be allowed to commence operations from January 1, 2025.

This move is part of an effort to ensure regulatory compliance and to facilitate the monitoring and supervision of betting activities in the country.

Failure to obtain authorization could lead to the blocking of platforms making them inaccessible to Brazilian users.

Why would playing with fake "money" points fall under the same regulation as actual gambling?

@BrunoParga not fake money anymore

@FranklinBaldo a few markets might give real money to people living in a few jurisdictions at some point. That's definitely not a reason to ban what's available in Brazil, which is the fake money.
