I'd prefer to be vegan on ethical grounds. Unfortunately, I'm an extremely picky eater, and the main foods I like involve milk and cheese.

("Vegan" here will refer only to what I eat, not other animal products I might use.)

You can get most of the moral benefits of veganism by abstaining from chickens and pigs.

@IsaacKing any progress so far ?

@Mich Not really. I'm pretty much vegan except for dairy products already, and given that most of the dairy products I like are in pre-processed, mass-produced foods, it seems unlikely I'll be able to find a substitute for them all.

I tried a plant-based butter substitute a few weeks ago, but it did not taste very good.

What goes in your vegan category? Is honey allowed? Are leather products? Cultured meat?

@JimHays Honey no. Leather yes, because I usually think of "vegan" as only referring to what people eat, and it's a lot simpler to resolve this market if I stick to that definition. Cultured meat yes, since that's not an animal product.
