How many US metro areas (Metropolitican Statistical Areas) will Waymo serve with publicly available driverless taxi rides at the end of 2025? Note that there are two metro areas in the Bay Area: SF and San Jose.
Rides must be paid, driverless, and available to the general public (i.e. not just employees or any sort of trusted tester program. But if there is a waitlist to manage demand that still counts).
As of market open, Waymo currently serves the SF, LA, and Phoenix metro areas and is planning to expand to Austin.

Update 2025-06-18 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The creator has confirmed that the baseline for the market is that Waymo currently serves 6 metro areas. These are:
San Francisco (SF)
San Jose (SJ)
Los Angeles (LA)
Phoenix (PHX)
Austin (ATX)
Atlanta (ATL)
@JoshYou I just wanted to confirm since it's your market and you're buying 4-5, my understanding is that if nothing changes by end of year this resolves to 6 — SF, SJ, LA, PHX, ATX and ATL — so 4-5 would require they actively remove service?
