Canadian PM candidate (and former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister) Chrystia Freeland has proposed a 100% tariff on Teslas if US tariffs on Canada go into effect. Will any country manage to place a tariff on Tesla products before the end of the year?
Update 2025-02-12 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Clarification Details:
Targeted Tariffs: A tariff must be specifically aimed at Tesla, Musk's companies, or another clearly defined group of products/businesses that is obviously targeting Tesla for it to count as a YES.
Broad Tariffs: A tariff imposed on all American companies is too broad for a full YES resolution.
@Shai I feel like targeted tariffs will be more discriminating and specify what they're trying to hit. Something against all American companies shouldn't really count, I think (though I'd consider a partial resolution at time of market close), but if it specifies that it's against some or all of Musk's companies, or against some other class of business/product that's specific enough to obviously be targetting Tesla, that's enough for a YES resolution for my tastes
