If we have poll resolutions by then it will resolve to that. Otherwise I will use my best judgement.
This question will resolve "yes" if for the 90th percentile "most EA" EA there is a significantly less sex positive culture. eg EA parties are unacceptable, there is much less sex between EAs, there is a social or job penalty for being pro sex.
How are you planning on resolving this? Based on vibes?
@sanyero I suggest looking at the age-adjusted cumulative body count of a representative sample of >90th percentile EAs.
@JavierPrieto So going to an EAG and handing out a survey? (I think Bay Area vs. London would give different results though.)
@sanyero no, I was thinking of something informal, discreet, and less likely to give CEA comms a heart attack.
@NathanpmYoung how do you plan to assess this? I know I have a very poor understanding of the social life of a committed EA outside of Seattle (where I am) and SF (which I read about).
I sort of anticipate some pendulum swing toward being cautious and mindful of potential for abuse, but I don't anticipate parties being unacceptable, or there being a social or job penalty for being pro-sex. "much less sex between EAs" is harder to assess; I have no idea how much there is now, or how one would measure a change.
so I voted "no", because the bar you're describing seems relatively high to me. I may be projecting from what I think should happen to what I think will happen but honestly seems to be my best guess.
