Will a consumer smartphone be brought to market by 2027 (Dec 31 2026) that is built from the ground up with generative AI features?

Requirements:

  1. Runs an LLM locally.

  2. Voice input to activate AI assistant.

  3. AI call transcription, voice recording and summarizing capabilities.

  4. AI search runs on notes, photo gallery, files, etc.

Samsung has rolled out a number of preliminary AI features under the Galaxy AI brand. Apple has promised generative AI features in 2024.

However, this market seeks a smartphone that is designed to run AI locally, privately, and constantly, allowing AI to organize the user's data in the background and surface it when needed.
